"Après la chute de Saddam Hussein, Mamo, un vieux musicien kurde, reçoit l'autorisation qu'il attend depuis 35 ans de rejoindre le Kurdistan irakien pour y donner un concert. Aidé de son fidèle ami Kako qui se procure un bus scolaire, il va parcourir le Kurdistan iranien à la recherche de ses 12 fils musiciens pour se rendre en Irak. Pendant ce voyage, il doit convaincre une chanteuse qui s'est réfugiée dans les montagnes où elle vit avec 1334 autres chanteuses exilées... Un beau film onirique, sorte d'allégorie de la souffrance d'un peuple martyrisé..."
